Marjuan canady (President / Founder)

Marjuan is an award winning artist, entrepreneur and educator. A native Washingtonian with Caribbean roots, Marjuan is the CEO and Author of the children’s media brand, “Callaloo”. Her work has been seen at The Kennedy Center, The Lincoln Center for Performing Arts, The Smithsonian, The Reel Sisters Diaspora Film Festival. She is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Fordham University (B.A. Theater / African Studies) and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts (M.A. Arts Politics).


Tatiana johnson (vice-president)

Tatiana is a native of Durham, NC and a graduate of Hampton University (Bachelors in Business Management).She brings more than seven years of experience in project management, event programming, film producing, financial accounting and specialized guidance to serve Sepia Works clients and projects.


erica waddy (production intern)

Writer, Photographer, Wellness Guru, African Diaspora history lover. A native of Anapolis, Maryland.


Sydnee Monday (Writer)

Sydnee is a writer and filmmaker interested in telling the stories of those underrepresented and/or misrepresented in mass media. Lover of all things arts and culture, she holds her B.A. in English and Film from Howard University.

Photographer, IT Consultant, Drummer, DC Native and proud grad of Hampton University.


jason battle (editor)

Jason is an editor and cat lover based in Brooklyn, NYC. He has worked with Spike Lee, Morgan Spurlock. He is a graduate of Norfolk State.


Darius lyles (videography)

Filmmaker, Cinematographer, Lover of the moving picture. Detroit Native, Film Studies grad of Howard University.


Sheldon thwaites (music producer)

Sheldon is a percussionist and music producer from Maryland. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he works with Cobi, Daughtry and Amel Larrieux. He’s a co-founder of Uberjet Music.
